At Covenant Church, we want to share our story so that everyone can see what God has done and is still doing within our church.
During the current remodeling of Covenant Church San Diego, we are reminded of our shared history with the Tifereth Israel Synagogue.
Much of the our building was constructed of cast concrete. Old photos of the synagogue show a street-facing double window to the right of the synagogue doors. There also appears to be another window behind the bush on the left side.
During an early remodel, the large double window on the right was sealed with brick and a men’s bathroom was constructed behind the window. This is how that area appears today from the sidewalk.
Next week, I will visit Tifereth Israel Synagogue to review their Celebration Book, which chronicles 100 years of synagogue history. I am eager to learn more about our church building and of the time we shared with the Tifereth Israel congregation!
At Covenant Stories, the best stories are yet to come!
